Meet a Flower Farmer!

Robin Ayers and her husband George have been providing us with fresh, locally grown flowers for the past several years. Her blooms are so essential to the unique seasonal designs we send out for daily deliveries and wedding arrangements. We met her when she was selling flowers at the Clifton Forge Farmer's Market and a partnership was born. Robin and George have grown vegetables and alpacas but have chosen to specialize in flowers as of late. While Robin is partially retired, we imagine that the flowers at their Pott's Creek area farm keep her very busy. Here at CGF we so enjoy designing with the spoils of her hard work. Last week I had the privilege of visiting her farm in person between rain showers.

While having less than an acre farmed in flowers, Robin keeps us stocked to the gills in cut stems, with the "Double Click" Cosmos just coming into season.

With three gardens to cut from, Robin provides us flowers through the summer months and with evergreen foliage in the late fall. Her farm is beautiful and backs up to a much larger farm, with views of the mountains throughout. While not pictured, she has grown lupine, tuberose, lavender, bee balm, hydrangea and many other flowers for us.

We are so happy that we get to work with the Ayers and hope for our partnership to expand in the future! I'd like to thank them for their hospitality and for letting us spotlight their farm here on the CGF Blog! Thank you for the spectacular flowers (especially the dahlias)!
