A Living Tablescape
There are plenty of ways to mix living plants into a tablescape so that they complement your arrangements and your color scheme. They also double as gifts and as a memento of your wedding that can be tucked into the garden of a new home, or with larger plants, such as flowering trees, used to memorialize your union. Potted herb topiaries give your event a touch of elegance and history, since most woody topiaries take many years to grow. Creeping rosemary and thyme give guests the chance to touch and talk of how wonderful it smells. Many potted herbs and plants can be slipped into your rental containers for an overall cohesive look. Foraged branches in large fluted urns call out to a burlap wrapped apple tree that you’ll plant together and which will provide your favorite apples in the years to come. For a tropical look, mix lush green house plants such as palms, monstera and trailing green vines into both your reception and ceremony. Use your living plants to give any cut flower arrangement- from centerpieces, and arbors to large urns- a background to pop against. Too many plants at the end or your wedding? Give them away to your guests to enjoy and cherish.
